Family Violence Justice Project Co-Ordinator
Flat Out

Nina is a formerly incarcerated woman and an abolitionist. She is the family violence justice coordinator for Flat Out, a state-wide advocacy and support service for women, trans and gender diverse people (and their children) who have been criminalised, and a member of the Safe and Equal Expert Advisory Panel. Nina is a member of the WEAVERs, a group of women who have experienced domestic, family violence and/or sexual violence who play a role in ‘weaving’ lived experience into research and training at the University of Melbourne. Previously Nina was a member of the Victim Survivor Advisory Council. Nina pays the rent and is a steering member of the Homes not Prisons Campaign. PRESENTERS ‘Formerly Incarcerated Girls Justice Advocates Melbourne’ Collective. A group of women who have survived systemic abuse, harm and violence. They continue to resist the harms inflicted on them by an unjust system. Fiercely Advocating to alter public narratives, engage in policy reform, advocacy and research. Providing information how they address this through their lived expertise.
